Ospreys Sweep UAB, Fall to No. 17 Pepperdine
MALIBU, Calif. -Â North Florida beach volleyball took on its first day of competition in Malibu, sweeping UAB while coming up short against No. 17 Pepperdine (3-2) Saturday, March 11.
UNF (6-4) won a trio of three-set matches in the win against the Blazers (5-5), while freshmen Madison Espy and Presley Murray continued their unprecedented streak by winning their ninth and tenth-straight matches respectively.
The Ospreys finish up the weekend out west tomorrow against San Francisco.Â

Pepperdine took an early, 2-0, lead with a win at the second and fourth slot. Mariana Feliciano Sanchez and Mackenzie Murphy pushed their opponents to three sets, but Pepperdine hung on to get a key win.
The Waves clinched it at the first slot, but Murray and Espy stayed perfect by winning at court three. Chantel McMillan and Hayden Wooldridge came up just short in an extremely close match that went 15-13 in the third session.

UNF was clutch in the back half of the twin bill, with UNF winning all three matches that went to three frames. Play started at the fourth and second slots, with Feliciano-Sanchez and Murphy starting the Ospreys off on the right foot with a 21-23, 21-8, 15-12 resounding comeback.Â
Playing at the second slot for the first time on the season, Espy and Murray won, 21-15, 17-21, 15-13, getting North Florida within one court of the win. McMillan and Wooldridge clinched it with the afternoon's first two-set match.Â
Insurance points came with wins at the first pair from Audrey Brooks and Iris Fletcher, as well as a three-set win by California native, Michaela Rezentes and Katie Camp.Â
