JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida (8-5) went toe-to-toe against a strong USF (7-5) team, yet came up short in the 4-3 match Saturday. 

The Ospreys got off to a good start as Isabel Oliveira and Kendall Nash took a 6-3 win at the second court of double. Shortly after, No. 78 Kit Gulihur and Ana Paula Melilo secured the doubles point for UNF with a 6-3 score. The final court was left unfinished.

The Bulls came out strong in singles play, as Melilo was defeated 7-5, 6-0 to tie up the score. No. 85 Gulihur took a 6-3, 6-3 win at the top slot to give UNF a one-point lead. Oliveira forced a third set and won, 6-3, to put the Ospreys up, 3-1. Nash fell in three sets in the fifth position, as Jasmin Makela fell at the sixth slot. With a tie score and one court remaining, Annabelle Davis fell in a close second set as the Bulls earned the 4-3 win. 

The Ospreys will take almost a week off until they begin conference play against Stetson Friday, March 17.
