Ospreys Notch Fast Times and New Personal Bests

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - North Florida women's swimming kicked off day one of the Coastal Collegiate Sports Championships (CCSA) with fast-paced swims and a new top-ten program time. Freshman Faith Mutschler swam the eighth fastest 500-yard freestyle in program history, taking first place in her heat of the finals, touching the wall in 4:55.09.

Mutschler now holds six top-ten times at UNF in only her first year with the team, one being a program record.

Mutschler now holds the 8th, 9th and 10th fastest 500-yard freestyle times in program history
The group of Sara Maschmeier, Victoria Torres, Claire Kerber and Ashley Kephart came just .32 seconds short of the school record for the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:45.32
Kelsey Swartout swam a new personal best in the 500-yard freestyle prelims with a time of 5:15.75
Amelia Hildebrand produced a new personal best in the 50-yard freestyle prelims, touching the wall in 24.24

"What a fast day of swimming; was one of fastest in conference history. We had a good amount of personal bests today. Our 200 Medley Relay was .32 off the school record. Faith Mutschler had a very exciting swim in the B Final of the 500 Free, winning the heat with a time of 4:55.09, good for 8th fastest 500 Free in school history. We have a lot of swims tomorrow with the potential to reach the nightly finals ". -- Head Coach Ian Coffey
