BOSTON - Macauley Franks and Aidan O'Gorman wrapped up the men's indoor track and field regular season in a huge way with the duo setting a pair of UNF school records at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational. Franks dashed the program record in the mile, finishing in an astonishing 3:58.56, while O'Gorman broke the 3000m record, one he previously set.Â
Franks rewrote his personal school record, set in the mile earlier this season. The Lake Forest Park, Wash., native broke the mark with a sub-four minute time of 3:58.56. Franks outpaced Penn State, Princeton, Virginia Tech, Boston University, Cornell, the Colorado School of the Mines and more.
O'Gorman ran the 3000m with the same determination, bringing more eyes to the Ospreys in a great field up in Boston. The New Smyrna Beach, Fla., native recorded a remarkable sub eight-minute performance in the 3k event, tallying a new record at 7:55.50. O'Gorman paced in third for his respective heat, edging out Adams State Princeton, Connecticut, Rutgers, Michigan and more.

PIGG'S POINTS
"Aidan and Mac both had tremendous races today. Mac's 3:58 mile is such a good race. Breaking the 4:00 mile mark is very special and he has accomplished that today. Aiden's mark of under 8:00 for 3000m is also a huge barrier broken. Truthfully, they both ran exactly what I thought they would run. They are passionate hard working guys who are making the most of their God-given talent. The trip to Boston was well worth it! Now we will rest up and get back to work preparing for the ASUN championships." -- Head Coach Jeff Pigg
