UNF Great Runs a Time of 14:02.90 to Break Conference Mark

LYNCHBURG, Va. - UNF great Aidan O'Gorman made more history in arguably the biggest way yet, setting the ASUN Indoor Championships record in the 5000m to highlight UNF men's track and field's first day in Lynchburg. The New Smyrna Beach Native took first with a blistering time of 14:02.90.

Also of note, Timothy Doyle turned in a qualifying time of 4:05.70 in the mile, notching a slot in the finals race tomorrow afternoon. Doyle received a new personal-best time on Friday afternoon, clinching the highest rank for North Florida in the event overall.

Mac Franks put forth a momentous effort in the mile, crossing the line in the eight to secure a spot in the finals. Franks finished well under his 2023-mile record, so we can anticipate more from Franks tomorrow.

O'Gorman took home the 5k title and punched in a new ASUN Indoor Championship record
Doyle and Franks both qualified for the men's mile run and will continue the competition on day two of the ASUN Indoor Championship
Doyle recorded a personal-best record in the mile
Robert Pedroza headlined the flock with a qualifying time in the men's 800m at 1:51.78
Ladarius Tellis & Ryan Douihech both ran strong in the 800m and secured a spot in the final race for Saturday
Pedroza, Ryan Thomas, Doyle and Franks clocked in a new program record for indoor competition
The Osprey men took home a record and a second-place medal for the Distance Medley Relay
The DMR men scratched ten seconds off the previous indoor record set earlier this season

NEXT UP
UNF will wrap up the ASUN Indoor Championships on Saturday, Feb. 25. The Ospreys will compete for medals in the mile, 60m hurdles, high jump, 800m, and 3000m. Award presentations will kickoff at 3:30pm.
