
Women's Golf Starts Second at White Sands Bahamas Invitational

Allendesalazar and Washburn Both in Top Seven Overall
PARADISE ISLAND, The Bahamas - North Florida women's golf had an impressive showing down in Paradise Island during the opening round, as it scored 12-over 300 as a team and sit in second overall at the White Sands Bahamas Invitational hosted by Santa Clara on Friday afternoon.
The Ospreys had the most support from Casilda Allendesalazar and Kaitlynn Washburn, who combined for four birdies to reach a share of fifth and seventh, respectively, on the player's leaderboard. All five UNF golfers at the event are inside the top 25 individuals after a great start to the weekend outside the states.

ROUND REFLECTIONS
- Allendesalazar led the Ospreys in the opening round at 1-over 73 after scoring four birdies and ending her round at 2-under over the final six holes to be tied for fifth overall.
- She also has the second-most birdies with four total and sixth-best scoring average on par-four holes (1-over) on Friday.
- Washburn played her best round of the season recording nine straight pars, followed by back-to-back birdies for a 2-over 74 score.
- The redshirt junior also has the fourth-best par-five scoring average (1-under), as well as a top-four mark for pars with 13 total.
- Christin Eisenbeiss returned to form with 11 pars and a pair of birdies to be 4-over 76 with a share of 16th overall.
- Both Washburn and Eisenbeiss are top four in the tournament for par-three scoring average (1-under).
- One Kashima put together a strong start with 10 pars and a birdie on her first 13 holes to sneak into the top 20 at 5-over 77.
- Jessie Cai notched a birdie on each side of the course's nine on her way to be the fifth Osprey in the top 25 at 6-over 78.
- Helen Zhou played as an unattached individual in this tournament, as she opened the weekend with a share of 28th at 7-over 79.
