What's your name and year?
Megan Forster
-Fifth Year
What's your major?
Master's in communication management with a concentration in business
What's your dream career?
Honestly anything within the sporting industry. I would love to coach college tennis at a Division I Power Five school, preferably in a sunny state!
In 10 years, where do you want to be?
In 10 year's time I hope to be in a head coaching position at a division I school, a homeowner, married and looking to start a family if I haven't already.
Why do you play tennis?
I play tennis because of the enjoyment it brings to my life. I love having a structure and routine each day. There is also no better feeling than competing and walking off the court knowing you gave it everything you had, especially if it resulted in a big win!
What style of tennis do you like to play?
My game is surrounded by being a counter puncher, I like to run down and retrieve a lot of balls, however, when I get the chance to be aggressive I like to come forward to the net and use my volleys to finish points off.
Favorite professional tennis player?
Ashleigh Barty
Do you have a favorite moment in your tennis career?
If I had to pick one it would probably be beating University of California, Berkeley when they were ranked #12 in the country
Who/what inspires you?
My mom is my biggest inspiration. She puts every else's needs before her own and goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is taken care of. I wouldn't be where I am without her.
What is something about you that people wouldn't expect?
I was homeschooled from the age of 9 – 16 years old
What's your proudest achievement?
Becoming the first person to graduate college (from Uni of Colorado) in my family.
What's the most valuable piece of advice you have received?
Play to win, don't play not to lose
Pre-match meal?
Jimmy Johns #4 on wheat bread and avocado spread is a game changer!!
Pre-match pump-up music?
N/A
Favorite hobby?
Hanging out with friends
What does it mean to be a student-athlete?
To me being a student-athlete means maintaining great academic standing, along with playing for something bigger than yourself. You are no longer competing for the result against your name but more importantly you are representing your team and university
