
Women's Tennis Cruises Past North Alabama To Remain Undefeated, 6-1

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida Women's Tennis remained undefeated at 17-0 when it defeated North Alabama, 6-1, at UNF Tennis Complex on Sunday.Â

North Florida secured the doubles point with wins at the one and three lines. After North Alabama secured the doubles advantage with a win at the two position, senior Jasmin Makela and sophomore Gabby Goyins evened the count with a 6-2 win at the three spot. Down to the top doubles court, senior Laurie Barendse and graduate student Isabel Oliveira clinched the point with a 6-3 win at the one line.Â

North Alabama picked up its lone point with a win at the four line to open singles action. North Florida responded back with wins at the other five courts, three of which came in three sets. Graduate student Anslee Long posted a 6-3, 6-2 win at the six spot, while Goyins added a 6-4, 6-0 win at the five line. With the win, Goyins stayed undefeated in singles action at 15-0.Â

Sophomore Aryana Bartlett clinched the match with a three-set win, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3, at the three line. Barendse notched a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 win at the top court, and Oliveira earned the final point with a 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 win at the two line.Â
