What's your major?
Masters of Science in Management
What's your dream career?
Wind turbine farm manager or electrical grid technician.
In 10 years, where do you want to be?
I want to be in a comfortable place where I am able to travel, see the world, and hopefully still be running at a high level.
Why do you play your sport?
I run because it brings me joy and balance to my life. It's a great challenge to continue pushing the limits of my fitness, and it has also opened so many doors for me.
Who is your favorite athlete?
Craig Engles. He's famous for his mustache and mullet. He also is a super nice guy who doesn't take himself too seriously, even with his world-class accolades.
Who/what inspires you?
My late coach, Bill Roe. He served as the USATF president for a decade and spent his retirement part-time coaching at my previous institution. He believed in me before I was fast, and his faith and guidance have inspired me to continue running.
What is something about you that people wouldn't expect?
I can recite the ABC's backwards.
What's your proudest achievement?
All-American selection for indoor track & field during the 2021-22 season at Western Washington.
What's the most valuable piece of advice you have received?
There is no specific point at which a cucumber becomes a pickle. Greatness takes time.
Pre-game meal?
Honey crisp apple, oatmeal, and a ton of pre-workout.
Pre-competition song?
"Keep on Rising" by Big Gigantic and Aloe Blacc
Favorite hobby?
Besides running, probably listening to music and going to concerts.
What does it mean to be a student-athlete?
Being a student athlete is a privilege. We represent the university and our teammates on a national and world-class stage. It requires sacrifice, grit, and balance to do what we do.
