Men's Golf Improves Standing in Second Round of NCAA Championship

Nick Gabrelcik Plays Even to Enter Top 42 Individuals
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - No. 33 North Florida men's golf made adjustments in the desert to put together an improved second round at the NCAA Championships at Grayhawk Golf Club Saturday, May 28.
The Ospreys put some more birdies on the board during Saturday's round with nine total, while also recording 50 pars. They moved up four spots in the team leaderboard with their play in round two, as they jump ahead of No. 30 ETSU, No. 31 USF, No. 47 Utah and No. 49 College of Charleston.
Nick Gabrelcik was the catalyst for the Ospreys on the second day of play with four birdies for an even-par day to improve to a top-50 placement on the player's leaderboard. Robbie Higgins also had an impressive day out west with three birdies total, joining Gabrelcik with a strong finish at even-par through his final nine holes.

- His six birdies through two days of competition is only four short from the leaders in the tournament.
- Higgins also had an improved round to jump inside the top 100 players at 10-over 150 combined that has him tied for 85th overall.
- He started his round with a birdie on the first hole and finished his final nine holes at even-par, while totaling three birdies in the second round.
- Davis Lee replicated the score from his first day with another 7-over 77 in the second round.
- Cody Carroll scored 9-over 79 in the second round after carding the top Osprey score on Friday to join Lee at 14-over 154 combined.
- Brandon Mancheno remains strong in par-three average score at 1-under on his way to rounding out the UNF group at 20-over 160 overall.
