
Men's Golf Shares Third On Second Day at NCAA New Haven Regional

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - No. 39 North Florida men's golf posted another solid round on Tuesday afternoon, sitting with a team score of 12-under 548 at the NCAA New Haven Regional through two rounds.Â
The Ospreys are tied for third with No. 49 Georgia Southern and are currently ahead of four top-35 teams, including No. 8 Texas Tech, after a 1-over 281 second round score. They are seven strokes ahead of No. 20 Illinois, who is the first team behind the cut line to qualify for the NCAA Championship.
Davis Lee carded the best round of the day for the Ospreys at 2-under 68 in round two to stay inside the top 20 individuals and keep the Ospreys team score within the top three teams. Cody Carroll also had a great round to join Brandon Mancheno as the top Ospreys after the second round, tied for 11th at 3-under.
Another great score in the final round would send UNF to its second NCAA Championship appearance in three seasons. They will look to rebound from just barely missing the cut last season after placing sixth in the Noblesville Regional.

- Robbie Higgins scored an eagle on the 16th hole to wrap up the group for the Ospreys with his score of 3-over on the day to stay within the top 40.
- Higgins, Mancheno, and Gabrelcik have all dominated par-five holes in this regional, as they all are tied for third in average par-five score (3-under).
- The Ospreys remain as only one of two teams with four of their top players inside the top 20, while also being one of three teams to have two players inside the top 12.
