
Men's Golf Finishes Tied For Third at Regionals, Advances to Sixth NCAA DI Championship Under Schroeder

Third NCAA Championship Team Appearance Since 2018
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - For the third time in four seasons, No. 39 North Florida men's golf advances to the NCAA Championship after carding 16-under 824 combined at the NCAA New Haven Regional hosted at Yale Golf Course.
It is the sixth NCAA Championship team appearance under head coach Scott Schroeder since joining the ASUN Conference in 2005-06, as well as their third since 2018. This is also their best finish at an NCAA Regional tournament since the 2018 Norman Regional where the team was tied for second place.
The Ospreys finished strong with the third-lowest 18-hole score in the third round, which was led by Nick Gabrelcik's 5-under 65 round with six total birdies. Gabrelcik ended his week as the top Osprey after notching a combined 7-under 203 with two rounds with scores of 66 or better, while also finishing tied as the fourth-best individual and ahead of 11 players ranked in the top 100.
UNF finished with all five of its players in the top 31 spots of the field out of 77 total players. They also placed with the same score as No. 8 Texas Tech and ahead of four ranked teams at New Haven, including No. 20 Illinois, No. 27 NC State, No. 31 Charlotte and No. 49 Georgia Southern.

- Gabrelcik matched his career-best 18-hole round of 5-under 65 in the final round of the NCAA Regional to placed tied for fourth among the field of eight ranked teams.
- He also finished with the most birdies in the regional with 15 total, as well as a top 10 spot in par-four average at 3-under.
- Robbie Higgins stepped up on the final day of play with another round of 2-under 68, matching his first round score, to earn 1-under 209 on the week and tied for 21st overall.
- Both Gabrelcik and Higgins finished tied for the second-best par-five average score at 4-under.
- Davis Lee had the third-best par-three average at 1-under this week and carded with the second-best score for the Ospreys to finish inside the top 15 at 2-under 208.
- Both Higgins and Lee were inside the top 10 for most pars in the regional with 79 total pars combined between the two of them.
- Cody Carroll had two birdies on the back nine Wednesday to complete his regional at even-par, while Brandon Mancheno rounded out the group with the sixth-best par-five average and tied for 31st at 2-over.
- The Ospreys were one of two teams to have all five players in the top 31 individuals on the player's leaderboard.
- They also were one of three teams to have three players inside the top 21 and four players inside the top 25.
