Men’s Golf Wins Seventh ASUN Championship, Gabrelcik Takes Individual Title

Ospreys Finish With 11-Stroke Lead on Nearest Competitor
ATHENS, Ga. - No. 39 North Florida men's golf added a seventh ASUN Championship to its trophy case after finishing a massive 11 strokes ahead of the next closest team to card a 4-under mark for the 2022 ASUN Championship.
Nick Gabrelcik shot four-under for the day to claim the fourth individual ASUN championship in North Florida men's golf history. The sophomore had the best round of any golfer Tuesday, carding rounds of 72, 66 and 67 to finish four strokes ahead of Liberty's Austin Duncan for first place.Â
The Trinity, Fla., native posted an 8-under par mark for the tournament, tying with FGCU's Austin Cherichella with the most birdies of any individual at 14.Â
As a team the Ospreys shot an 848 for the 54 holes played between April 24-26, placing ahead of second-place FGCU who shot 7-over par. The only other top-50 team in the 12-team field was No. 36 Liberty who finished third at nine-over par and three-over for the final round.Â
Not to be lost in the tournament is Robbie Higgins who finished tied-for-second on the individual leaderboard at four-under par. The lefty carded a 209, shooting rounds of 66, 70 and 73 on the par 71 course.

- UNF led the entire afternoon, never relinquishing its lead.
- The Ospreys have won seven ASUN titles in program history.
