Ospreys Lead the Pack After First Round of ASUN Championship

Herrick and Eisenbeiss Tied For Second Overall
VALDOSTA, Ga. - No. 48 North Florida women's golf posted a fantastic score of 5-under par through the first round to sit as the top team in the tournament after the first day of the ASUN Championship.
The Ospreys hold a three-stroke lead over Kennesaw State and also have an 11-stroke lead over the next best teams in Eastern Kentucky and Lipscomb at 6-over. UNF is the only team in the field ranked in the top 50 and one of three teams ranked within the top 100.
Mindy Herrick and Christin Eisenbeiss are both tied for second on the player's leaderboard with each of them scoring 2-under 70 in their debut round. They both placed in the top 10 in last year's ASUN meet and looks to be on track to do the same this week.

- Eisenbeiss put together another strong finish in the back nine with three straight birdies from holes 11-13 and another one on 18 to finish the day at 2-under.
- Herrick joins Eisenbeiss at 2-under, as she also saved her best for last with four birdies on the last seven holes.
- Jessie Cai was at par or better past the sixth hole with three birdies to shoot 1-under 71 and stand in seventh after the first round.
- Sara McKevitt had a excellent start as the top Osprey through the first nine holes and stayed solid throughout the day to finish at even-par and tied for eighth on the day.
- Dani Gonzalez wrapped up the Osprey group with a 5-over finish that puts her within the top 35 on the leaderboard.
- The Ospreys are one of two teams with two players in the top-two places, along with the only team with three players in the top seven and four players in the top 10.
- UNF finished day one with the best average par-three score (even-par), average par-four score (3-under), and total birdies (15), as well as the second-best team in total pars (60).
