Meet: Black & Gold Invite
Location: Orlando, Fla.
Date: Friday, Mar. 18, 2022
ORLANDO, Fla. - North Florida track and field had its outdoor season debut shortened due to inclement weather midway through the Black & Gold Invite hosted by UCF on Friday evening. The Ospreys will not be returning on Saturday for the second day of competition.
The women's team was able to complete the high jump, 200m dash, and 1500m race, while the men's team only finished the 400m hurdles and one heat of the 1500m event. Many lifetime marks and personal-best times were still accomplished by this group despite the weather delays.
IN THE FIELD
- Kaley Petrosky reached a new personal-best mark for the high jump on Friday evening at 1.67m.
- Izabelle Hays made her collegiate debut jump for outdoor with a mark of 1.57m.

PIGG'S POINTS
"Kaley [Petrosky] did a really good job. The meet was postponed, so she had her first jump and then jumped at a higher bar after the delay. EJ [Schlageter] lead the way for the women in the 1500m. It was new for her to run a 1500m, but compared to the 1-mile run, that was one of the best times she's ever ran.
Leah Pelham did the same thing in a good race, so that was exciting to see from those two girls.
On the men's side for the 1500m, I thought we had a really good race. Doyle opened at 3:45, followed by Robert [Pedroza], Jake [Turner], and Aidan [O'Gorman] at 3:48. That's a good opener with good times with PR's for the three of them.
Aiden Arnold did really well as a freshman in the same race as well. It was really good for us on the men's side and it just a really good meet. Unfortunate that we don't get to finish it, but that's just how it went." -- head coach
