INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Four runners from the North Florida men's and women's track and field program have officially qualified for the NCAA D-I Outdoor Track & Field East Region First Round, as announced by the national association on Friday afternoon.

Aidan O'Gorman (Men's 10,000m), Robert Pedroza (Men's 800m), Smilla Kolbe (Women's 800m) and Ella Chandler (Women's 800m) all punched their tickets for the opportunity to race on their own course at Visit Jax Track at Hodges Stadium. They each recorded times among the top 48 individuals from their respective events across all teams in the East Region during this outdoor track season.

All three qualifying times for each Osprey event stands as a program record that were all set earlier this outdoor season. It will be the first time since 2018 with at least four total UNF athletes competing in the preliminary rounds, as well as with at least two UNF athletes from both the men's and women's squads.

For the men, Pedroza will be competing in the first round of the 800m race at 7:50 p.m., on Wednesday, May 28, followed by O'Gorman's 10,000m race in the semifinals at 9:10 p.m. Pedroza would then compete in the quarterfinals of the 800m on Friday, May 30, at 7:05 p.m.

On the women's side, both Kolbe and Chandler will be in the first round of the 800m race at 7:50 p.m., on Thursday, May 29. Both athletes look to put up qualifying times to advance to the quarterfinal round of the 800m set for Saturday, May 31, at 7:05 p.m.

The first round of NCAA East Region Outdoor Track & Field competition runs from May 28-31 at Visit Jax Track hosted by UNF in Hodges Stadium. The qualifiers out of both the East and West regions will compete in the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships held June 11-14 in Eugene, Ore.
