JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida came back from a 3-0 deficit to tie the game in the seventh and eventually force extra-innings, but UConn's free passes in the top of the 10th inning ended up lifting the visiting Huskies as the Ospreys (1-7) dropped the series finale to UConn (5-1) Sunday, Feb. 27.

In the second time in as many games played on Sunday this season, UNF and its opponent went into extra innings. Hustle from Isaiah Byars to leg out an infield single preceded a game-tying RBI double from Grant Grodi, tying the game in the seventh.

Despite stranding 14 runners, the Huskies were able to push two across in the seventh, both of which reached earlier in the inning on walks.

Ironically, neither team had allowed a walk until the ninth inning.

The game featured eight doubles and nine extra-base hits in total.

Behind the Line Score

A leadoff single was followed by a double to right from Zach Bushling, putting UConn up 1-0 after the top of the first.
A solo shot to right and sac fly gave UConn a 3-0 lead in the third.
UNF got the bats going in the fourth. Abraham Sequera turned on a double and Brock Edge followed by one-hopping the wall in left center, scoring Sequera.
Westbrook brought Edge home with a sac fly to left.
UConn's T.C. Simmons doubled down the left field line, although it bounced over the wall for a ground rule double. The play kept the Huskies from scoring, having a runner at first prior to the play. Max McKinley got the next batter to fly out and Zach Chappell stranded a pair, working a one-pitch at-bat that resulted in an unassisted groundout to first.
Isaiah Byars legged out an infield single with two outs in the seventh. Grant Grodi drove him in one batter later, tying the game 3-3 with a double into the gap in left center. Simmons dove after the base hit, and on his dive the ball one-hopped off his outstretched glove, giving Byars more time to run around the bases.
UNF worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the ninth, getting UConn to ground out.
Three walks, a sac fly and a single gave UConn a 5-3 advantage in the 10th.
UNF got one runner aboard in the 10th, but UConn spun a game-ending double play.
