JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - UNF women's tennis announces an exciting schedule for the 2023 spring season, featuring 22 matches and six against teams that appeared in the 2022 NCAA Championship Tournament.
"I am extremely excited about the spring schedule," head coach Catherine Dunagan said. "We have several great opportunities against nationally ranked programs. Our non-conference schedule will be a strong test for us that I know will prepare us for conference play. I am looking forward to seeing what this group can accomplish."
The Ospreys are set to play seven in-state foes and across five different states as UNF plays a road heavy schedule in the spring.
Season-Opening Road Trip
North Florida challenges itself from the get go as the Ospreys play eight-straight road matches to begin the season. From Jan. 20 to Feb. 11, UNF plays against FAU, Kansas State, Presbyterian, Wofford, Charleston Southern, Florida State, FAMU and FIU. UNF will be in South Carolina and Florida for all of those matches.
Second Half of Non-Conference Play
UNF comes home for a stretch of four of five matches in Jacksonville as the Ospreys close out non-conference competition.
For the second year in a row, UNF hosts an SEC team when the Auburn Tigers come to the UNF Tennis Complex for an 11 a.m. first serve Feb. 25. UNF starts the month of March at Georgia Southern March 1, returning home to close out non-conference play with three challenging matches with Davidson, VCU and USF.
Into the ASUN
UNF starts its eight-match league ledger with a rematch from last year's ASUN Championship Semifinals against Stetson March 17 in DeLand.
The Ospreys play four home league regular season games this year, with the first two coming March 19 and 26 against Austin Peay and FGCU. Sandwiched in those two matches is a road test at Kennesaw State March 23.
UNF closes out the regular season in Alabama, Kentucky and Jacksonville. UNF finishes up road regular season tests at Jacksonville State March 31 and North Alabama April 1. UNF wraps up the regular with two home matches against EKU and Bellarmine between April 6-7.
ASUN play begins a week after the final regular season match, with the semifinals and finals slated for UNF's own courts. The first and second rounds will be held at host sites.
