Gabrelcik Holds Two Stroke Lead in First Overall
MAUI, Hawaii - North Florida men's golf stays within the mix after two rounds of play at the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate hosted by Hawaii on Saturday afternoon.
Nick Gabrelcik stole the show once again with a repeated round of 6-under 65 to hold a two-stroke lead as the individual leader heading into Sunday's final round. After recording seven birdies in the first nine holes in the second round, the junior from Trinity, Fla., is in prime position to take home his eight-career medalist crown.

ROUND REFLECTIONS
- Gabrelcik scored his second straight round at 6-under 65 with seven birdies, all on the front nine, and pars on the final eight holes to end the second round as the overall leader.
- He not only holds the top spot in par-five average score (8-under), but is also second in par-four average score (4-under).
- The back-to-back ASUN Golfer of the Year has the seventh-most birdies at 11 total and remains one of three players to have two or more eagles as well.
- Cody Carroll moved up the leaderboard on Saturday with 15 total pars to card a round of 1-over 72 that puts him tied for 34th.
- He maintains a top-two spot for par-three average score (3-under), along with having the sixth-most pars at 26 total.
- Davis Lee was right behind Carroll just outside the top 40 with a second round score of even-par 71 for a second consecutive round.
- The senior also adds on to the Ospreys' eagle total on the weekend, as he only needed two shots on the 12th hole.
- Robbie Higgins had a nice start to the day with three birdies in the first six holes to stay among the top 60 individuals at even-par 144 combined.
- Cooper Smith made major strides as an unattached individual moving from outside the top 100 individuals to holding a share of 59th, recording a score of 4-under 67.
- The Ospreys are one of five teams in the field to have three or more eagles after the completion of the second round.
- UNF continues to play to its strengths on par five holes, which ranks second among a 20-team field through two rounds.
