Gabrelcik Takes Runner-Up With 4-Under Final Round
MAUI, Hawaii - North Florida men's golf wrapped up play out west in its final tournament of the fall season with a top-10 team finish at the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate hosted by Hawaii on Sunday afternoon.
Nick Gabrelcik made his mark in Hawaii with his third consecutive top-two placement of the season with a score of 16-under 197 combined. It is also the fourth-straight tournament that the Ospreys have had a player finish as either the individual champion or the runner up.
The Ospreys had three players shoot under par in the final round, including two score in the 60s, to finish 10th among a field of 20 teams. Robbie Higgins had the best score on the last day of the fall with seven birdies to jump inside the top 30 after being outside the top 50 after the second round.

ROUND REFLECTIONS
- Gabrelcik scored 4-under 67 in the final round of play to notch eight rounds in the 60s in his last nine rounds played.
- He also finished with the best average score on par-five holes at 10-under, as no other player in the field had better than 8-under.
- Higgins only had one hole on Sunday that was worse than par, as he scored 6-under 65 to be tied at 27th overall.
- Both Gabrelcik (6-under) and Higgins (5-under) placed in the top 10 for average par-four score throughout the weekend.
- They also shared sixth for most birdies through all three rounds with 17 total each.
- Cody Carroll shared 35th in the field after his second round under par this weekend at 1-under 70 with six birdies.
- He also finished with the second-best par-three average at 2-under on Sunday.
- Davis Lee notched a birdie and 12 pars in the final round to combine for 4-over 217 that put him just outside the top 75 individuals.
- Lance Yates returned during Sunday's round with a score of 4-over 75 that included two birdies.
- Cooper Smith continued to impress as an unattached individual with a career-best 18-hole score of 5-under 66 to hold a share of 32nd overall.
- The Ospreys were one of seven teams to have one player finish in the top 10 and another among the top 30 individuals.
- UNF finished the event in both the top five for average scores on par-four (1-under) and par-five (25-under) holes.
- They were also one of eight teams to score three of more eagles over the course of the weekend.
