JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's golf returns for its first official event of the spring season, Monday and Tuesday, at the Sea Best Invitational hosted by Jacksonville University.

TOURNAMENT NOTEBOOK
- This marks the 10th all-time and ninth consecutive appearance in the Sea Best Invitational hosted by JU at the host site of the PGA's Players Championship.
- North Florida brought home the team crown in last season's tournament with a score of combined score of 861 (+21).
- Nick Gabrelcik will also attempt to win back-to-back individual titles this season after taking home the individual title in last year's meet with a score of 3-under 207 (66-73-68).
- The Ospreys also have finished in the top five in this invitational seven times, including a co-championship in 2014.
- The tournament field features 10 teams in Golfstat's Top 100, including six teams in the top 50 and Texas A&M as the top-ranked team at ninth.
- UNF's projected lineup features a freshman, two sophomores, a junior and a senior, along with two individual players that are both seniors.
- The Ospreys begin play on Monday at 8 a.m. in a shotgun start and will play two rounds of 36 holes.
SCORECARD REPORT
- Nick Gabrelcik is currently ranked 60th in the nation and finished with even-par or better in all three matches played for the Ospreys this past fall.
- Robbie Higgins is ranked 175th in nation with his best round from the fall occurring at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational with an even-par 216.
- Grant Sutliff had strong performances in the fall as well, with scores of 4-under 212 that tied for eighth at the Rod Myers Invitational and 1-over 214 at the Windom Memorial Classic.
- North Florida started the fall season finishing fifth at the Rod Myers Invitational hosted by Duke, 11th in the Windon Memorial Classic hosted by Northwestern, and seventh in the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational hosted by Central Florida.
- The Ospreys recently defeated JU in a preseason friendly co-ed match, 19.0-5.0, at Pablo Creek on Jan. 24.
- UNF has its sights set on winning their first ASUN tournament championship since 2019 after winning back-to-back titles in the conference from 2018-19.

- Nick Gabrelcik was the team's top performer carding 4-under 212 (70-69-73) and finishing tied for fifth overall.
- Gabrelcik had his best finish of the fall season and put together his seventh top-five finish of his career.
- Robbie Higgins finished just outside the top 10 with a score of even-par 216 (70-72-74) that's tied for 11th.
