
THE FACTS: Baseball Hosts Series With Stetson in Battle for ASUN Seeding

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - UNF baseball battles for ASUN South Division seeding when it hosts Stetson for three games.
The three-game set marks the final games counted towards the 2021 ASUN standings, as the single games against Jacksonville and Stetson the following weekend only go towards overall records.

Division III graduate transfer Alex Kachler had a remarkable career at DIII Methodist University, but he hasn't let up since coming to UNF for Division I baseball … through 35 games the right-handed hitter is leading the league with a .378 batting average, good for 61st in the nation … he's also: third in the ASUN for walks (28), 2nd in the league in walks/game (0.80) … 125th in the nation for hits (51) … 3rd in the ASUN for slugging percentage (.585) … the Lithia, Fla., native tied the UNF DI record for hits in a game after going 5-for-5 against Jacksonville April 25 … the started the April 28th game against FAMU by going 3-for-3, becoming the first Osprey in program history to hit safely in eight consecutive at-bats … twice he's been named ASUN Player of the Week this season.
