Kachler Ties the UNF DI Record for Hits in a Game

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - UNF baseball (14-16, 8-4 ASUN) made it four consecutive wins with a 14-6 victory against Jacksonville (7-23, 0-12 ASUN) Sunday, April 25, completing its second series sweep against JU this season.

Alex Kachler went 5-for-5 with three runs and two RBI, tying the UNF DI record for hits in a single game. Kachler ties Nick Karmeris' mark set May 20, 2016 against NJIT.

Isaiah Byars also belted the Ospreys' second grand slam of the season as eight of the nine starters collected at least one hit.

All told this weekend, UNF outscored Jacksonville 32-15.

Behind the Line Score

As Saturday's game went, JU led early before UNF's bats started to take form.
UNF did score first thanks to a two-out two-RBI double from Blake Marabell that scored Ricky Presno and Alex Kachler. Presno was going on the pitch, scoring from first.
The Ospreys worked a key double play to get out of a bases loaded jam in the fourth.
JU got one in the second on an RBI double before it clubbed back-to-back homers for a 3-2 lead in the fifth.
The Dolphins got one more in the fifth thanks to a sac fly.
North Florida erupted in the fifth inning, scoring nine runs on six hits, a walk and two hit batters. Aidan Sweatt notched an RBI single, Justin Holmes drove in two on a single, Byars blasted his grand slam and Kachler went opposite field for a two-run homer.
UNF tacked one two more on a Clark RBI double before Abraham Sequera lifted a solo home run to right.
Richardson completed JU's scoring with a two-run homer in the sixth.
