Ospreys Improve to 11-1 at Home, Callie Workman Reaches 50-Career Wins
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - UNF beach volleyball (13-5) continued its winning ways at home, sweeping a twin bill against Jacksonville (2-12-1) Wednesday, March 24 from The Cooper Beach Volleyball Complex.Â
The Ospreys are 11-1 at The Coop this season and 23-2 against JU all-time. It's the Ospreys 11th sweep of the season. Callie Workman tallied her 50th-career win with a pair of victories. Carleigh Semeniuk and Lauren Galinis also earned their ninth win in a row.
Match 1: UNF 5, JU 0
Galinis and Semeniuk clinched the match after UNF's flight four and five won in straight-set fashion. Galinis and Semeniuk played simultaneously Carolyn Cain and Chantel McMillan at the four slot and Leah Maloney and Marisa Rogers at five.
UNF's top flight of Taryn Griffey and Callie Workman, along with flight two of Antonia Harrison and Dana Roskic, cruised to sweeps.Â
Match 2: UNF 5, JU 0
The Ospreys went the same way in the second match for pairs one through three. Marisa Rogers and Chantel McMillan were slotted at pair four, sweeping their match shortly after Leah Maloney and Sophie Beckley did so at the five slot.
The top two flights took care of their matches in two sets respectively.
