
Jubran Named ASUN Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year

ATLANTA, Ga. - Junior Nathan Jubran adds to his long list of accomplishments and was named ASUN Men's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the conference office Thursday.Â
The psychology major holds a 3.98 GPA . This season he became the first from the North Florida men's cross country program to qualify for the NCAA Championship Qualifier as an individual. Jubran was one of 38 individuals to qualify and placed 75th with a time of 31:13.4 in the National Championship.
In the ASUN Championship, the Jacksonville native placed first overall earning ASUN Runner of the Year and All-ASUN First Team honors with a time of 24:38.4. Jubran earned ASUN Runner of the Week twice this season after strong performances in the FSU Winter Classic and the CSU Invitational.Â
He finished 27th in the FSU Winter Classic Men's Garnet 8K with a PR of 24:11.2 against seven nationally ranked programs. In the first meet of the season Jubran led the Ospreys with a first-place overall finish at the CSU Invitational and completed the 8K course in 24:15.5.
The ASUN Champion is now a three-time All-ASUN First Team member, earning honors for cross country in 2018 and 2019. He is also a member of the 2019-20 CoSIDA Academic All-District Men's Track and Field/Cross Country Team. Jubran earned 2018 ASUNÂ Freshman of the Year awards before being named the 2019 ASUN Preseason Runner of the Year.Â
The All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom. All the members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's events.
