Presno Hits Solo Shot and Grand Slam as Ospreys Take Series
CHARLESTON, S.C. - North Florida baseball swept a doubleheader at The Citadel Saturday, Feb. 27, earning a series victory thanks to wins by the scores of 3-2 and 13-6.
Osprey pitchers rolled 12 groundouts and Ricky Presno homered in game one, while game two saw UNF score 13 on 18 hits courtesy of multi-hit days by six Ospreys.
North Florida's 13 runs are its most since May 7, 2019 at Florida A&M. The 18-hit total is the most since UNF pounded out 20 against FGCU March 24 of 2019.
The Ospreys (3-5) put up eight extra-base hits in the doubleheader, holding The Citadel (2-4) to only one. Every batter recorded at least one hit as UNF's offense drove in 14.

Behind the Line Score
- UNF took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third. Aidan Sweatt doubled, Robbie Scott pushed him up 90 feet with a fly out and Bulldogs starter Cameron Reeves balked Sweatt home.
- The Ospreys turned an important inning-ending double play to quiet The Citadel in the fourth.
- The Citadel threatened again in the fifth, loading the bags with nobody out. Dominick Madonna entered to relieve starter Austin Bogart, getting a double play ball. The Citadel scored one, but Madonna stranded a runner at third.
- Ricky Presno tagged a hanging curveball for a solo home run in the sixth.
- The Citadel tied it 2-2 in the sixth on an infield single, throwing error, wild pitch and RBI groundout.
- Madonna turned in another scoreless before UNF scored the game-winning run in the eighth. Presno walked, moved to second on a wild pitch and reached third on a Cade Reich single. Sweatt legged out an infield single, scoring Presno.
- Miller spun two scoreless, facing one more than the minimum for his 10th career save.

Behind the Line Score
- The Citadel led 2-0 after the second thanks to two singles, a walk and sac fly.
- Presno's grand slam highlighted UNF's five-run third. It came following a Sweatt bunt single, Robbie Scott walk and singles from Trey Spratling-Williams and Blake Marabell.
- Citadel responded with one in the third and two to tie it 5-5 in the fifth on four hits and a walk.
- Five UNF hits in the sixth, including a Tanner Clark leadoff double and Sweatt triple, put the Ospreys ahead, 8-5.
- The Citadel scored one in the sixth, but reliever Stephen Halstead got a key strikeout to strand the bags loaded.Â
