JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida baseball plays its home opener against No. 1 Florida Tuesday before going to Gainesville Wednesday in a home-and-home with UF.
Tuesday's game at home is closed to the public. Admission is open for those on a pass list and for a limited number of UNF students. All other games at Harmon Stadium are free admission with a 250 attendance limit based on first-come-first-serve basis.

2. Kachler Cashing In
UNF had 10 players making debuts at Florida State … among that group was graduate transfer Alex Kachler who went 7-for-10 with five runs, three RBI, one double and four walks … Kachler is slugging .800 with a .786 on-base percentage … the Lithia, Fla., is no stranger to accolades having racked up many at Methodist University … Kachler was a CoSIDA Division III First Team Academic All-District 5 selection and D3baseball All-South Region Player of the Year in 2019.
3. Felling Florida State
The Ospreys picked up their 18th win against a ranked opponent with a 7-4 win at Florida State on opening day … the Ospreys blew things open with a six-run third inning and righty Brandon Reitz stranded the bags loaded in the ninth to secure his first save as an Osprey … it was UNF's first win at FSU since 2009 and the first win against a ranked team since beating No. 3/5 Florida Feb. 20, 2019.
4. New Faces
On the offensive side, six Ospreys made their first-ever start … Alex Kachler, Robbie Scott, Cade Westbrook, Aidan Sweatt, Justin Holmes and Austin Bogart all made at least one start in the field this past weekend … Hurlers Ethan Jones, Stephen Halstead, Dylan Kelley and two-way player Austin Bogart picked up time on the mound in their first appearances in the Navy and Gray … Max McKinley earned a win Saturday in his first appearance since March of 2019 … McKinley was recovering from Tommy John Surgery last year.
