TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - UNF baseball (1-2) had a shot at taking a road series from No. 24/21 FSU (2-1), but the Seminoles hit their way to a doubleheader sweep Sunday, February 21.

FSU won game one, 14-7, and game two, 8-4.

UNF had a number of players make their Osprey debuts this weekend. Graduate transfer Alex Kachler made the most of his, going 7-for-10 with four walks.

Behind the Line Score

UNF went up 2-0 in the top of the first thanks to a two-out two-RBI single up the box by Tanner Clark. Clark scored Blake Marabell and Cade Westbrook. Marabell doubled and Westbrook reached on an error earlier in the inning.
FSU took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of one. FSU's Tyler Martin doubled down the right field line and Robby Martin singled him home, making it 2-1 in the bottom of one. Reese Albert hit a two-run home run for the FSU lead.
FSU expanded its lead to 5-2 in the second. Jackson Greene drew a leadoff walk and later scored on a Tyler Martin sac fly. Matheu Nelson reached on a throwing error by Westbrook, scoring Nander De Sadas who reached on a single earlier.
The Seminoles went up 12-2 in the third. Albert singled, Logan Lacey doubled and Greene singled them both home. A walk and consecutive hit batters scored another. One more free pass and a bases clearing double by Dylan Simmons completed the scoring.
UNF walked five times in the fifth, scoring twice.
Marabell ripped a two-out double down the left field line and Westbrook plated him with a single, making it 14-6 in the eighth.
Sequera scored Grodi in the ninth with a sac fly to complete UNF's scoring.

Behind the Line Score

Matheu Nelson hit his second homer of the weekend, a solo shot in the first.
It was zeros for both sides until FSU put up five in the fifth on a Vince Smith three-run home run, RBI groundout and Albert RBI double.
UNF answered in the bottom of the fifth, cutting the deficit to 6-3. With Abraham Sequera and Robbie Scott on, Kachler clubbed a two-RBI double down the left field line. He scored later on a wild pitch.
FSU went up 7-3 in the seventh on a Dylan Simmons RBI single chopped through the left side.
UNF got the run back in the eighth. Scott and Kachler walked, advanced 90 feet on a wild pitch and Westbrook scored Scott with a sac fly to left.
FSU added one more in the eighth. De Sedas walked, Tyler Martin singled, Nelson bunted both over and De Sedas scored on a wild pitch.
UNF had a good opportunity in the ninth. Austin Bogart singled to left and Ricky Presno walked. With one out, Sequera chopped a ground ball to first that was thrown wild into left field on the force attempt at second. Sequera would be called out for an illegal bat before Scott struck out to end the game.

Bogart picked up his first RBI at UNF and made his first appearance on the mound.

Righty Dylan Kelley made his first career start.
UNF drew 10 walks in game one, the most in a single game since May 23 vs. FGCU.
