TROY, Ala. - Â North Florida softball opens the season, 2-0, after waiting out rain delays all morning. The Ospreys beat Western Kentucky, 3-1, before making a comeback against the College of Charleston, 8-6.

How it Happened:
- Western Kentucky got on the board first, scoring a run off a double to center field.
- The Ospreys responded quickly, getting three runs in the fourth inning.
- Kayla McGory singled up the middle allowing Kayla Harper and Brittany Sundermeier to score.
- Taylor Engman stole home, securing the winning run before McGory was picked off at first.
- North Florida's defense made it a quick game and sophomore Morgan Clausen only allowed one hit to close out the game.Â

How it Happened:
- UNF scored first when Engman came home on a double from Rebecca Koskey to left center in the third.
- The Cougars roared back with five runs in the third inning and tacked on an extra in the sixth.
- The Ospreys got back on the board when Koskey hit a solo shot to make it 6-2.
- From there, North Florida scored six runs on five hits and two errors to take the lead.Â
- Back-to-back singles and an error loaded the bases for McGory who singled to right field to score one.Â
- With the bases still juiced, Koskey recorded two RBI to make it a 6-5 game.Â
- A wild pitch brought McGory home to tie the game and moved Veronika Klimplova to third with just one out.
- Glover walked to load the bases again before an error allowed Klimplova to give UNF the lead.Â
- Sundermeier ended the inning the same way she began it, with a single, this time bringing in a run for the 8-6 lead.
- The Cougars got the next batter swinging, but the damage was done.Â
- College of Charleston tried to come back in its side of the frame as it had the bases loaded, but with two outs, Clausen reentered the game and got the fly out to secure the victory.
