Preview: Ospreys Travel to Florida

JACKSONVILLE - For the first time since 2014, North Florida women's basketball travels to meet Florida in Gainesville on Monday at the Stephen O'Connell Center.

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

The two teams meet for the first time since 2014. It is the second SEC team in as many games and the first time in program history that UNF plays two SEC opponents.
For the fourth time this season, two or more players scored 20 or more points in a game. It is the first time under Gibbs' watch that the Ospreys have had multiple players score 20 or more points in three or more games.
Senior Rhetta Moore earned ASUN Player of the Week laurels after back-to-back 20-point performances for the first time in her career. She now has three games with 20 or more points.
North Florida is currently ranked 7th in the country with 64 three-pointers made and 10th in 3PT/G.
This team is on track to break the 3-pointers made in a season as it currently owns 64 after just six games. The last two teams to break the record only had 36 triples after six contests. The record is 211.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT

FLORIDA

Florida is 6-1 on the season with its lone loss coming at in-state rival Florida State on December 1.
For the first time since the beginning of the 2015-16 campaign, Florida has opened with a 5-0 record at home.
Kiki Smith is leading the team in scoring (17.6), rebounding (6.7) and assists (3.9). Smith is the only player in the SEC to lead her team in all three of those categories.
The Gators are scoring 79.3 points per game and limiting opponents to just 59.1 points on average.
Florida is limiting opponents to just .181 shooting from distance, a top 10 mark nationally.

North Florida takes a break for the holidays before turning its attention to ASUN play. Teams will play back-to-back games this season in conference play at the same site. UNF returns to host Stetson on January 2 and 3.
