Slow Start Hurts Ospreys at Florida
12/21/2020 4:50:00 PM | Women's Basketball
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's basketball was outscored just five points in the final three quarters, but a slow start hampered the Ospreys as Florida won, 89-64, at Exactech Arena on Monday afternoon.
Florida (7-1) used a 12-0 run late in the first quarter to own a 31-8 lead and it never looked back. In the final three quarters, UNF (2-5) trailed by just five.
"Florida did a really good job early speeding us up and it took us too long to adjust on our end of the floor. Outside of the first quarter, we were solid. I loved our effort and fight, but we are not going to win many games giving up as many offensive rebounds as we did. Our non-conference schedule has been brutal and we have learned and grown a lot. Now it is time to refresh, reset over this break and then get ready for our conference run." - head coach Darrick Gibbs
