JACKSONVILLE - After taking just over a week off for final exams, North Florida women's basketball is back in action at home against crosstown foe, Edward Waters on Sunday.
FIVE THINGS TO KNOW
- In the win against FIU, the Ospreys saw three players score 20 points for the first time under coach Darrick Gibbs. Marissa Mackins led the way with 23 points, while Jazz Bond tallied 21 and Rhetta Moore recorded 20.
- Senior Jazz Bond set the UNF block record on Thursday, Dec. 3 against FIU with a pair of swats. She owns 148 for her career, taking the top spot from Lakira Jones (2009-14).
- Senior Rhetta Moore earned ASUN Player of the Week laurels after back-to-back 20-point performances for the first time in her career.
- North Florida is currently ranked 10th in the country with 11.2 triples per game. As a team, the squad has 45, tallying 10 or more in three of its four games. Mackins eighth in the NCAA with 14 three-pointers made.
- The Ospreys average 76.3 points against Edward Waters and have outscored the Tigers by 77 points in the last three meetings

- The Tigers have a game on Saturday and dropped an exhibition opener, 80-57, on November 25. On Wednesday, Edward Waters lost to Stetson, 98-48 in another exhibition contest.
- Last season, EWC was third in the GCAC in scoring, averaging 75.24 points per game.
- The Tigers have nine newcomers and five returnersÂ
- La'Quanza Glover was second on the team in scoring last season and averaged a double-double with 14.6 points and 12.0 rebounds per contest.
- The squad's third leading scorer Sha'Kawanza Brown also returns after averaging 12.8 points per game.
