ATLANTA - The ASUN Conference announced its Women's Outdoor Track and Field 12-person All-Academic team featuring North Florida standouts Audrey Carpenter, Crystal Liebenberg and Syd Steele. Jacksonville's Brittany Bowald collected Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors.
Carpenter and Liebenberg were both selected to the ASUN Indoor Track & Field all-academic squad while Steele is making her first appearance on an ASUN Academic list.
The All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the track and in the classroom and exemplify the ASUN's mission of Building Winners for Life. All the members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's events.
COACH JEFF PIGG COMMENTS
"These student athletes take both the classroom and track very serious. They put great effort into both, while understanding that success in the classroom can positively impact them the rest of their lives. Balancing the two provides a healthy routine for them. I'm proud to see them honored for their efforts."
