Ospreys Sweep Mercer, Drop Match to Stetson in Macon

MACON, Ga. - UNF notched its 10th sweep of the season with a clean slate against Mercer, but No. 10/11 Stetson upended the Ospreys (16-11, 3-1 ASUN) in the latter half of day one at Bear Down Beach.

Match 1 | UNF 5, Mercer 0

The Ospreys didn't drop a set as they cruised to their third consecutive ASUN win.
Carolyn Cain filled in for the sidelined Nicole DeBolt and won at the three spot alongside Madilyn McCarty in their first match as a pair.
Dana Roskic and Callie Workman sured up their 18th win of the year with a 21-11, 21-16 sweep.
Marisa Rogers and Kirby Smith added a straight-sets win at the extras slot.

Match 2 | No. 10/11 Stetson 4, UNF 1

Roskic and Workman earned their fifth win in a row to improve to 19-8 in a three-set grinder, but the Hatters took things, 4-1.
Rogers and Smith improved to 3-0 at the extras slot, winning 21-14, 22-20.

Wright's Words
"I'm proud of our team, we rallied without our captain, Nicole DeBolt who was ill today. Carolyn Cain stepped up in the alternate position at the three spot as a sub for DeBolt and got the win against Mercer. She also came as close as 19-21 against Stetson with McCarty. We didn't play our best at number two and five today, and Stetson stayed strong. The four slot was a battle with freshman Dana Roskic and Callie Workman, battling back from a five-point deficit in set three to win 16-14 in the third set. We'll be discussing a few things and we will be up for the battle in the morning and looking for a strong finish against Mercer." -- Head coach Kristen Wright
