
Beach Volleyball Earns Two-Seed in ASUN Championship

Highest Seed UNF Has Notched Since 2016
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - After a 19-12 season and a 6-2 run in conference UNF beach volleyball heads into the 2019 ASUN Championship as the two-seed, securing a bye in the first round.
The entire ASUN Championship will be hosted by Stetson in DeLand.
It's UNF's best seeding since entering the 2016 championship as the second seed. The Ospreys would go on to win the title that year, going 4-1 during the tournament and concluding things with a 3-2 defeat of one-seeded Stetson.
Tournament Schedule
No. 2 North Florida plays No. 3 FGCU Thursday, April 18 at 3 p.m. The winner will go on to face No. 1 Stetson.
The championship follows a double elimination format with a single elimination championship match.
Seeding Criteria
The top seed from each division, north and south, receives an automatic bid to the championship. The final four teams are selected according to the committee at large. At-large selections are determined by:
UNF in ASUN Championship History
UNF is 18-8 in ASUN Championship history since the program's inception in 2012. As mentioned, UNF won the title in 2016 after entering as the two-seed.
North Florida has made ASUN postseason play every season, reaching the championship match four times (2018, 2016, 2014, 2013). The Ospreys were the three-seed last season and this is just the second time that they have been the second-seed.
The Ospreys are 6-1 against FGCU in postseason history, while UNF and UNA have never met in any capacity.

- UNF closed out the regular season with a sweep of FGCU at Jacksonville Beach. It downed the Eagles in both matches, 3-2.
- The Ospreys honored seniors Nicole DeBolt, Chaney Howard and Brittany Pase prior to the matches. The three seniors combined to win 178 matches throughout their career.
- Dana Roskic and Callie Workman combined for a team-best 23 wins throughout the season.
- Roskic's 23 wins are good for second-most wins for a UNF freshman in school history.
- UNF's 19 wins are tied for its second most in school in history.
- The Ospreys have played eight ranked opponents this season.
- Chaney Howard is the all-time leader in wins at UNF with 73. Senior Nicole DeBolt is third with 58 and Brittany Pase is fourth with 57.
- UNF is 19-5 against FGCU all-time, while UNA and UNF have never met.
- The Ospreys have received votes in the DiG Magazine Collegiate Beach Volleyball Poll for seven weeks this season.

- FGCU enters as the three-seed at 14-9 and 4-4 in ASUN play.
- The Eagles picked up a pair of wins against Mercer and Jacksonville, but fell to North Florida and No. 10 Stetson.
- Florida Gulf Coast broke the school's single-season wins record.
