Ospreys Compete in Two Relays On Opening Day of Championships
LYNCHBURG, Va. - Swimming finally got underway after snow in Lynchburg pushed the start time back on day one of the CCSA Championships. At the conclusion of day one UNF competed in two relay events, with the Ospreys notching a new season best in the 800 free relay.

The quartet of Showfety, Greenleaf, Joram and Fletcher touched the wall before the original season-best 800 free relay time, cruising by their seed time of 7:46.89.
All individual races today were treated as exhibitions, while the lone scored events were the 200 medley and 800 free relays. Other teams at the championships also competed in one and three-meter dives.
Coffey's Comments
"I'm very happy with how we finished the session today. The 800 free relay team swam a good race, dropping over six seconds. Tomorrow we will start individual events and we are looking to some fast swimming." -- head coach Ian Coffey.

UNF enters day two of four at the CCSA Championships three points behind FGCU. Day two begins at 10 a.m. with the 500-yard free preliminaries. Event finals for the day start at 6 p.m.
