Women’s Swimming Prepares for the CCSA Championships

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The North Florida Ospreys travel to Lynchburg, Va., to compete in the 2019 CCSA Championships this week.

Last Time Out

North Florida had nine different Ospreys combine to earn times in five different event finals on the last of three days at the Virginia Tech Invitational at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center Sunday, February 3.

Coffey's Comments
"The CCSA Championships is going to be a great meet! We are looking forward to going to a new location in Liberty University. This is the meet we train for all season, I am very happy with our training and focus going into the meet. A three and a half day meet is tough, but we train for it and these young ladies are ready to perform at their best!" -- head coach Ian Coffey

The CCSA Championship

Finals heats include nine lanes each, with 27 total women's scorers (two heats and three heats respectively). 100 IM and 50 stroke events will be offered as time trials, but they will not scored.
The CCSA is a conference within NCAA Division I athletics that supports swimming and diving and beach volleyball.

UNF has already faced Gardner-Webb, Campbell and UNC-Asheville back during the 2018 portion of the 2018-19 season.

Making a Splash

UNF has competed at the CCSA Championships since 2008.
The Ospreys placed eighth of nine teams at the same championships a year ago.
UNF competed against FGCU, Liberty, Gardner-Webb, Georgia Southern, Incarnate Word, Campbell, UNC Asheville and Howard last season.

Looking Ahead
Following the CCSA Championships UNF will have a few weeks off before heading to Cleveland for the CSCAA Invitational hosted by Cleveland State March 14-16.
