MEET DAY | The North Florida women's cross country team heads to Tallahassee for the NCAA South Region Championships Friday (Nov. 15).
OSPREY FACTSÂ Â
LAST TIME OUT | Sophomore Grace Gumpel led the North Florida women's cross country team with a 16th place finish and a time of 18:05.99 in the ASUN Championships … Raquel Lespasio (18:19.34 | PR) and Tina Cesnik (18:58.79) joined Gumpel in the Top 30 with 18th and 28th respective finishes … The Ospreys finished fourth in a field of nine conference teams in the 5K race.Â
MAKING STRIDES | The North Florida women's lineup features all top-30 finishers from the ASUN Championship (Grace Gumpel, Raquel Lespasio, and Tina Cesnik) … Gumpel has led UNF in three races this season … Teammate Camryn Cooney will also be one to watch Friday, as she's led North Florida in two meets this season.Â
NOTABLE OPPONENTS | The South Region Championships feature the top five teams from USTFCCCA's Week 6 South Region Rankings: Florida State, Ole Miss, Middle Tennessee, Tennessee, and Alabama ... There will also be four other ASUN teams including conference champion Lipscomb, crosstown rival Jacksonville, Stetson, and Kennesaw State.Â
LAST YEAR AT SOUTH REGIONALS | Last year North Florida finished 18th in the 30 team field at the South Region Championships … Grace Gumpel paced the Ospreys with a time of 22:33.6, placing 88th.
EVENT SCHEDULE | The women's 6K race will begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by the men's 10K at 9:30 a.m.

"We had a great two weeks of practice and both teams have worked hard to compete again. We are looking forward to lining up and race again. Rankings are rankings we'd like to beat those estimates of where people think we are competitively. Grace has done a great job this year as well as Camryn and Raquel. This is their second opportunity to run a 6K race and they're excited to try that again. Our goal is to make the top 15." --Head coach Jeff PiggÂ
