HOW IT HAPPENED
THOUGHTS FROM THE TOP
"I thought we played a great first half against a solid, ranked team in Tulsa. Our back line made the adjustments we have been making recently and that first goal by Lodovico really put us on our front feet and gave our guys some confidence. With the lead we were able to pick up the pressure and really didn't allow Tulsa to get any great looks. In the second half, we got tired after the first fifteen minutes and cracked. The first goal we allowed was a really unfortunate bounce they got off the crossbar that kind of stunned our guys a bit and then they added two more goals shortly after. I still think we can continue to grow in getting better with the ball and possession, but I am proud of our guys for not giving up when trailing by two goals and playing a man down. We climbed back and got the second goal that put Tulsa on their heels again at the end. Playing a ranked team on the back end of a travel weekend is never easy, but I believe our team took steps in the right direction tonight." – Head coach Derek Marinatos
