Ospreys Pick Up Win Over UNCW

WILMINGTON, N.C. - The North Florida beach volleyball team picked up a 4-1 victory over UNCW on Saturday in the UNCW Beach Classic at UNC Wilmington. College of Charleston defeated UNF earlier in the day.Â

Beach Bullets
- In the first match of the day, the Cougars picked up three straight set wins in route to a 5-0 win on Saturday morning.Â
- In the afternoon match against the Seahawks, Madilyn McCarty and Nicole DeBolt playing at No. 4 and Carolyn Cain paired with Casey Justice in the No. 5 spot both picked up straight set wins against UNCW to give UNF a lead it would not relinquish.
- In the No. 2 position, sophomore Taryn Griffey and junior Chaney Howard grabbed a two set win over UNCW. Howard moved into sole possession of fourth place in school history with her 51st win.Â
- Junior Brittany Pase and freshman Callie Workman, paired at the No. 3 position and picked up a three set win to help guarantee the Ospreys win over UNCW.Â
- Senior Carina Hoff and junior Courtney Miller in the match against the Seahawks battled hard, but were unable to get a victory in a straight set win for the Seahawks.
- UNF has now won its last two meetings against UNCW and taken three of four all-time meetings.
