TOP PERFORMERS
- Junior Dominica Cocuzza was 4-for-7 with four RBIs and two runs scored.
- Classmate Navia Penrod also had four hits on the day including a 3-for-4 outing in game one, while stealing three bases.
- Tiffany Lower smacked her third home run of the year in game two and finished with four hits on the day and two runs scored.
- In the circle, Amanda Blanchard moved to 5-0 on the year with four strikeouts.
GAME 1 CAPSULE
- North Florida scored six runs in the first inning and never looked back in the opening game. Cocuzza had a three-RBI triple to plate the first three runs.Â
- The Wildcats got one run in the fourth and two in the sixth.
- Lower came around in the fifth on Ashley Niesman's single. She reached on a single of her own.
- UNF added its final run in the sixth when with two outs, Kayla McGory hit a bunt single before moving on Cocuzza's single through the right side. McGory then headed to third on a deep single to shortstop before coming home on Lower's hit for the 8-3 win.
- Sydney Matzko fanned six in the win as she moved to 10-9 on the year in her 15th complete game.
GAME 2 CAPSULE
- Both bats were quiet through four innings before Lower smacked a longball over the right field fence for the 1-0 lead after five complete.
- It was a short-lived lead as the Wildcats answered right back with a homerun of their own in the top of the sixth.
- The Ospreys did not go down without a fight as Cocuzza brought in McGory on a single up the middle in their side of the inning.
- Cocuzza then scored on Alex Arciola's triple to right field for the 3-1 lead.
- BCU tried to come back in the seventh when a runner reached third, but on the final batter with two outs, Niesman snagged a diving fly ball to end the threat and give UNF the sweep.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Ospreys recorded double-figure hits for the eighth time this season in game one with 14.
- Arciola is now on an 11-game reached base streak.
- In game one, UNF had five stolen bases - just one shy of its season high.
