THOUGHTS FROM THE TOP (Head Coach Jeff Pigg)
"The women has a very exciting day. We lined up in the events we do and performed at a very high level. Tomorrow will be another exciting day."
"Claudia ran a very calculated race. She hit her splits perfectly and came home strong setting the ASUN record in the 3000m. Eden gave a very good effort to place third in the 3000m. She raced the 5000m last Friday and I'm sure she was feeling it a bit in her legs, but she ran hard and I'm proud of her effort. Audrey Carpenter led off the DMR with a nice 1200m followed by freshman Syd Steele with a collegiate best 400m leg. Skye Zeller kept the team solidly in third place and gave the baton to Claudia Jalon, who methodically ran her way past the JU runner to capture the win adn break a very strong school record. The girls competed very well and it was thrilling race. Alyssa continued her string of strong jumps and high finishes clearing 1.65m and placing second. The senior once again came to the ASUN Championship ready to deliver. She did not miss until the bar was a 1.70m and that consistency is her trade mark. Dakota had a great day running her best race of the year and qualifying for finals. It was a clutch performance."
