The Short Story: Wesley Weeks drove in the winning run as the North Florida baseball team topped Southern Illinois, 5-4, in 10 innings at Harmon Stadium on Friday night.
LEADING OFF
- Weeks recorded the Ospreys first walk-off win since defeating Florida A&M at home on April 11 last season.
- Raff Libunao, Tanner Murphy, Wesley Weeks and Mac Wilson and all extended their reached base streak to five and lead the team.
- Libunao and Murphy also recorded their third and second multi-hits games, respectively.
- Murphy went 2-for-5 on the night with three RBIs, while Libunao went 2-for-5.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the third inning, Chris Berry singled to the left side of the field and advanced to second on an error. He later scored on a single to center field from Murphy.
- Kenton Crawford started the scoring for the Salukis in the fourth inning when he drove in Alex Lyons on a single to right field.
- UNF took the lead again in the fifth inning when Jay Prather singled to right field that scored Wilson.
- SIU tied the game in the top of the eighth when Niko Vasic singled up the middle bringing home Connor Kopach.
- Murphy gave the Ospreys a two-run lead on a double that scored Prather and Rey Gonzalez.
- In the top of the ninth, J.T. Weber scored on a wild pitch before Jared Kengott singled to center field and scored Crawford.
- The Ospreys had two runners on base with two outs before Weeks stepped in the batter's box. On a 2-1 count, Weeks drove a single to right center field, scoring Prather for the game winning run.
