Ellis Advances to Singles Quarterfinals

STATESBORO, Ga. - North Florida men's tennis sophomore Joe Ellis advance to the semifinals in his bracket at the Georgia Southern Championships on Saturday.
Ellis began the day by picking up a win against Jack Clark (Florida Tech). He then advanced into the quarterfinals to face Martjin Kerssens from the home team, Georgia Southern. Ellis had surrendered just one game in the opening frame before overcoming a tight second set to advance to the semifinals.
Tomorrow will open with doubles play for the remaining field, while Ellis will compete against College of Charleston's Johnny Wang following.
