Men's Golf Finishes 3rd at Shoal Creek Intercollegiate

The Short Story: After carding the second best team score of Tuesday's final round, the North Florida men's golf team climbed four spots to finish third at the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate hosted by UAB. Junior Philip Knowles was the top Osprey, earning a tie for seventh in medalist play with a 3-under 213. Travis Trace netted the best round of the event for UNF with his final round 68 (-4).Â

FIRST TEE
- UNF boasted a 4-under 284 in the final round which was the second best score of the day and fifth lowest round of the tournament
- Junior Phliip Knowles collected his second straight Top 10 finish of the season, using a final round even-par 72 to record a 54-hole total of 213 (-3)
- Junior teammate Travis Trace posted a season best 68 (-4) on Tuesday to vault into a tie for 14th at even-par 216
- Senior Dillon Woods also shot even-par 72 on the final day en route to a tie for 20th at 218
- Junior Andrew Alligood finished tie for 29th (221) after a final round 75, while redshirt junior Jordan Batchelor rounded out the Osprey lineup in 71st, highlighted by his final round 72 (E)
- Redshirt freshman Michael Saccente tied for 56th at 228, playing as an individual in the event

"We played a pretty good round today to finish. After playing so poorly to start yesterday, it was a nice bounce back to finish third. The guys know we have many things to improve on before our next event. It should be a good few weeks of work at practice."
