Beach Sweeps JU, Falls to Stetson

DeLAND, Fla. - North Florida beach volleyball opened the day with a dominating 5-0 win against Jacksonville before falling to the top seed, Stetson, 4-1, on Saturday at the ASUNÂ Championship on Saturday.
BEACH BULLETS
- No. 4 North Florida came into the day with a shutout of No. 5 Jacksonville. Shannon McPherson and Nicole DeBolt got things started with a win in the No. 5 spot as UNF saw all duals get wins.
- Last season, the Ospreys dropped to the consolation bracket and fought their way through to the championship match.
- Brittany Pase and Gabby O'Connell fell behind in the first set and then bounced back with tight 22-20, 15-10 wins to secure their victory.
- Lauren Gainer and Chaney Howard were the lone Ospreys to take down top-seeded Stetson with a 21-16, 21-17 win in the No. 3 position.
- The No. 1, 2 and 4 positions all battled to three sets, but the hosts got the win each time.
- North Florida now faces No. 2 Mercer on Sunday at 11 a.m.
