Tough Start to ASUN Play for Beach Volleyball

JACKSONVILLE. - North Florida beach volleyball dropped both matches to open ASUN as it fell to FGCU, 3-2 and Stetson, 5-0 at Dolphin Beach on Friday afternoon.

BEACH BULLETS
- This is the first time in program history that the Ospreys dropped two opening ASUNÂ matches.Â
- Courtney Miller and Katarina Raicevic pulled out a 21-13, 21-19 against the Eagles' top pairs, while the No. 4 duo of Brittany Pase and Gabby O'Connell also won in three sets.
- Against No. 9 Stetson, two pairs went to three sets. Shannon McPherson and Nicole DeBolt at the No. 5 spot dropped their opening set before bouncing back and taking the second. The final frame went to the Hatters, 15-12.
- At the No. 3 position, Chaney Howard and Lauren Gainer also lost in the first set before taking the second one, 22-20, but eventually Stetson grabbed the win with a 15-12 third set.
- For just the second time in program history, the Ospreys lost to FGCU. The last was the first round of the 2016 ASUN Tournament.
