UNF Heads to UCF for Single Game

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball looks to continue its winning ways as it heads to Orlando to face UCF on Wednesday, March 29 at 5 p.m.

SWOOP FACTS

Sophomore Navia Penrod is second in the country with 58 hits and ranks 16th with a .471 average on the season. Additionally she leads the team with a .500 on-base percentage.
Classmate Dominica Coccuzza paces the team with 31 RBI, 10 doubles and a .614 slugging percentage. She also ranks second in the ASUN with 10 doubles.
In the circle, Morgan Blourne is coming off a one-hit shutout against Georgia Tech where she recorded a season-high 10 strikeouts against the Yellowjackets. She allowed just one batter to go past first base.
Senior Logan Green (8-8) and Blourne (7-3) have tossed a majority of the innings. Green tallied 71 strikeouts over 118.2 innings, while Blourne fanned 53 hitters in 71.0 frames of work.
The Ospreys are on a nine-game win streak which is second best in the program's Division I history. UNF is chasing the 2013 team's 11-game win streak that extended from February 22-March 3.
North Florida is second in the ASUN in batting average and ranks 27th in the nation with a .322 mark.

STRIKE OUT CANCER
A special ceremonial first pitch will be tossed by Shelby Turnier, the first All-American in UCF's program history. In her first season on the UNF sidelines, Turnier is coming off the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) championship title with the Chicago Bandits over the summer. Turnier holds the UCF record for wins (80) and finished her career third all-time in strikeouts (830).

LAST MEETING: On March 2, 2016, then-ranked No. 25 UCF won 7-2 in the Ospreys' home opener. The Knights scored four runs in the top of the second and never looked back.

UCF defeated two nationally ranked teams on the year - No.14 Baylor and No.25 Cal Poly.

Kamryn Toney is 4-2 on the season and has fanned 27 hitters in 51.2 innings

The Osprey head back to Jacksonville to start conference play against FGCU on Saturday, April 1, in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
