
Beach Volleyball Back in Action at LSU

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida beach volleyball gets back on the sand this weekend at the Tiger Beach Invitational hosted by LSU before trekking to Spring Hill for a spring break match up.
NORTH FLORIDA SCHEDULE
NOTEABLES
- UNF comes into the weekend to bounce back from a 1-4 start to the season.
- North Florida takes on Tulane, who is receiving votes in the latest AVCA poll, and No. 8 LSU, marking five ranked opponents so far.
- Courtney Miller, Katarina Raicevic and Chaney Howard all earned Preseason ASUNÂ All-Conference honors.
- Howard is coming off of the ASUN Tournament MVP title with Ambre Desaulnay who graduated last spring.
- Miller and Raicevic were both named to the ASUN All-Conference team and earned All-Tournament accolades as well.
- The Ospreys have five news players on the roster including fifth-year transfer Lauren Gainer who comes to the Ospreys from Chattanooga.

After this weekend's tournament, North Florida plays Spring Hill for a third and fourth time on the March 22 before jumping into ASUNÂ play with FGCUÂ and Stetson beginning on Friday, March,31.Â

- Rachel Evans and Gabbi Moreno lead the team in the No. 4 spot with a record of 6-2.
- On March 11, the Blazers fell to conference opponent, Jacksonville University, 1-4.
- The Blazers played against two nationally-ranked teams as they fell to No. 11 Grand Canyon and No. 15 Tulane.
- After starting the season 8-1, Tulane is receiving votes in the AVCA poll.
- In seven of their eight wins, Tulane shut out its opponents. The Green Wave have given up just one match to ULM.
- The Green Wave has not yet played any ranked teams, but will face one this weekend.
- The pairs of Taylor Hurst and Catherine Milwee as well as Caroline Herrera and Hannah Masoner each have four wins on the No. 4 and No. 5 courts, respectively.
- Away from Mobile and their respective home tournament in Golf Shores, the Badgers are 0-5..
- The Badgers have lost five of their six matches by shutout including one from the Ospreys to kick off the season.
- Â At the No. 1 spot, Aeriel Horton and Jessica Wooten have the most wins one the team with a record of 10-8.
- The Huskies also recently lost to Tulane and Florida Atlantic, both who received votes in the latest AVCA Poll.Â
- LSU is tied for No. 8 in the AVCA Coaches Poll with Georgia State, which is their highest ranking in school history.
- Out of the seven teams the Tigers have played, six of them have been nationally ranked in the AVCA Coaches Poll, including No. 1 Southern California who topped LSU, 4-1.
- LSU's one shutout on the season was against No. 15 Cal Poly.
