- Cooper Bradford pitched four scoreless innings to start the game before the Cougars touched Tyler Dupont for both of their runs in the contest. - Chris Berry finished with a 2-for-3 night including a homer and 3 RBI while Christian Diaz had 4 RBI on his grand slam that was part of a 2-for-5 night
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After the teams traded "0" on the scoreboard for the first two innings, North Florida struck first in the top of the third as Rey Gonzalez led off the frame with a walk and move to second on a single from Blake Voyles. With two outs in the frame, Alex Merritt drove in the first run with a single to centerfield followed by another single by Patrick Ervin to score the second run of the inning
- The Ospreys added another run in the fourth as Chris Berry drew the leadoff walk and moved up a base on a single by Christian Diaz. Gonzalez executed a sacrifice bunt to move the runners up in front of a sac fly from Yahir Gurrola
- Chris Thibideau led off the fifth with a single and then stole second. Wesley Weeks pushed Thibideau to third with a single up the middle leaving runners on the corners. Following a pitching change for the Cougars, Berry collected his second straight walk to load the bases. Diaz then deposited the third pitch he saw over the left centerfield wall pushing the Ospreys in front 7-0.
- In the bottom of the fifth, CofC notched their only runs of the game against reliever Tyler Dupont. Danny Wondrack doubled to open the frame and then Riley Knudsen reached base after being hit by a pitch. Luke Manzo hit a double and Erven Roper added an RBI single to drive home the Cougars two runs
- Following a walk to start the 7th inning by Weeks, Berry stroked a two-run homer down the right field line to push the UNF margin back to 7 runs
